come together at School

Household Harmony is happy to bring the Music Together Preschool program to children with special needs in inclusion classes of three- to five-year-olds at The Early Learning Institute's South Hills and Penn Center preschools (TELI).

Music Together at School

Music Together Preschool Specialist Daisy Klaber leads series of ten 45-minute, research-based music and movement classes in cooperation with classroom teachers, who follow through on the weekly sessions by adapting activities to their curriculum needs and interests on a daily basis. Illustrated songbooks, CDs, and teaching materials are available for classroom use each day so that having fun singing, dancing and playing rhythm instruments becomes part of the group's routine.

Mu Music Together at Home

Sing and dance with your child outside of school--regardless of what you perceive to be your degree of musical skill or know-how. And join us for the family sing-along event at school, too! Remember that you're your child's most important person. If you’re doing it at all, you’re doing it right.

In addition to the experience of making music with their school community, benefits of a family's participation in Music Together Preschool include

  • two professionally recorded CDs, packaged together
  • a songbook with award-winning illustrations and family activities to enjoy at home
  • a parent/caregiver DVD and printed guide to children’s musical development
  • a handy and informative growth chart detailing developmental milestones to notice
  • the E-Newsletter Notes from Household Harmony (Subscribe here!)
  • the E-Newsletter Play Along from Music Together (Subscribe here!)

Mu Music Together in the Community

Children learn from the powerful model of music participation that their significant caregivers (parents and teachers) set--especially by taking part in special events that bring the kids, parents, teachers and staff together to make music.

All of these experiences provide teachers and parents with a new arena for observation, assessment and appreciation of the children's cognitive, emotional, social and physical development. The joy of family music at home and at school creates a natural circle of learning that builds positive, meaningful relationships among children, parents, siblings, extended family members, teachers and staff.

Not part of TELI?  Please feel free to contact Household Harmony for information on bringing Music Together Preschool to your Pittsburgh-area school community.
